Klasifikácia osteomyelitíd - história a súčasnosť

Osteomyelitída čeľuste a sánky je klinická jednotka, ktorá je z literatúry už dlho známa. Heterogenita klasifikačných systémov vyplýva zo skutočnosti, že niektoré modality sa používajú na opis a definíciu osteomyelitídy orofaciálnej oblasti. Tieto modality zahŕňajú etiológiu a patogenézu, klinický obraz a priebeh, rádiologický a histopatologický nález. Navyše, väčšina klasifikácií predstavuje zmes týchto kritérií, čo spôsobuje zmätok, a tým sťažuje aj porovnávacie štúdie.

Classification of osteomyelitis - Past and present time

Osteomyelitis of the jaw and mandible is a clinical entity that has been known from literature for a long time. The heterogeneity of classification systems results from the fact that some modalities are used for description and definition of osteomyelitis in the orofacial region. These modalities include aetiology and pathogenesis, clinical picture and the course, radiological and histopathological findings. In addition, most of classifications are a mixture of these criteria, causing confusion that may lead to difficulties in comparative studies.
