Failure of Primary Treatment in the Therapy of Odontogenic Perimaxillary Inflammation
- Klinika ústnej, čeľustnej a tvárovej chirurgie LFUK a UNB
The material presents a 7-year retrospective study of 510 patients hospitalised at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Comenius University, University Hospital Bratislava in the period of 2015 and 2021. The statistical analysis reviewed the following data: cause and location of the process, CRP and leukocyte count, and length of hospitalisation. In all the numerical parameters (CRP, leukocytes, hospitalization length), highest values were found in the odontogenic pre-extraction group - failed primary treatment, non-extraction of a tooth prior to referring the patient to a specialised department.
