The global Covid-19 pandemic has affected orthodontic practices and limited regular check-ups in dispensaries that are essential for a successful orthodontic treatment. Many orthodontists have been therefore forced to switch to some form of telemedicine. In orthodontic practice DentaDerm we decided to respond promptly to the situation. We were the first in Slovakia to start using the app Dental Monitoring for regular evaluation of treatment progress. Using a smart device, our patients were able to send us scans of their teeth regularly. They hich were first evaluated by artificial intelligence and then by an orthodontist. We have decided to analyse 152 patients and present the most common problems and complications in treatment that the Dental Monitoring system can detect by itself. We also evaluated the most common discrepancies and mistakes that patients often make. We have tried to summarize main advantages and disadvantages brought by the implementation of the system into orthodontic practice.
