Oronasal communication is a condition characterized by a pathological connection between the oral and nasal cavities. It represents a serious problem that affects patients' quality of life by causing difficulties with breathing, speech, and food intake. In this paper, we present cases of oronasal communication of traumatic etiology and discuss possible approaches to closing the resulting defect. Various surgical techniques are used in treatment, such as the palatal mucoperiosteal rotation flap or prosthetic methods, including temporary closure using a palatal plate – obturator prosthesis. The article evaluates achieved clinical outcomes, encountered complications, and focuses on the management of treatment for this rare condition with the aim of increasing the success rate of procedures and improving patients' quality of life.
