Ulcerative lesions and lesions of traumatic origin form an individual group. Their diagnosis can be quite difficult, if the anamnestic data are insufficient. The causes of these traumatic lesions may be varied. They can include traumatization by biting, dentures or mechanical irritation. In the aetiology of traumatic lesions in the oral cavity, chemical influences, electrical current and temperature changes can be applied. This article discusses individual cases caused by traumatization, their aetiology, clinical picture and also treatment. It is important to define the individual lesions possibly found in patients and to differentiate them diagnostically that allows us to choose an appropriate type of treatment.
Keywords: oral cavity ulcerations of traumatic origin, mechanical damage of the oral mucosa, physical and chemical injuries to the oral mucosa
