The continuous development of new drugs and drug forms has undoubtedly a positive role in the treatment of various diseases. However, all drugs have certain adverse or side effects that can affect various systems and also may occur in the oral cavity. These manifestation can be classified according to their localization as periodontium or mucosa affliction in the oral cavity. In the article the authors describe possible manifestations of drugs in the oral cavity as well as the drugs that can cause these changes. Fibrovascular hyperplasia and focal epithelial hyperplasia are also briefly described. Proper classification of drug-induced conditions in the oral cavity is needed, but this classification must be flexible to accommodate new disease states due to the continuous development of science and drug forms.
