Complete parodontological therapy of a patient with generalized chronic parodontitis (Case report)

The authors deal with the importance of a comprehensive approach in the treatment of generalized chronic periodontitis in a patient with diabetes mellitus. The diagnosis of chronic periodontitis was made on the basis of patient's history, clinical examination of the condition of the teeth and periodontium, and an X-ray examination. After developing a treatment plan for the patient, the individual therapeutic steps were gradually performed according to the evidence-based dentistry of the current state and knowledge in periodontology. After deep scaling and root planing, the patient underwent systemic antibiotic therapy. During the recall, the clinical signs of periodontitis gradually improved significantly, the depth of the periodontal sacs was reduced to physiological values, and they did not show signs of active inflammation.
